Altitude 221 – A luxury lodge in victoria
Picturesque and perfectly positioned in the Alpine foothills, this High Country luxury lodge can sleep up to ten guests . In Winter, the view of snow capped Mt Timbertop is visible from the lodge verandah as sundowners of sparkling wine produced from the established vineyard grapes are enjoyed. Altitude221 offers personalised service and experiences. Dining options include self catered, Cook a Box comprising locally sourced produce which is a great option for families and those who enjoy cooking. A visiting chef for a fine dining experience is also available.
Some of the on site activities include 9 hole hub and spoke golf, tennis, petanque, croquet, painting in the vines and star gazing from the Celstron telescope. External activities can also be arranged.
ACCOMMODATION
Altitude 221 comprises two luxury accommodation options, the former cellar door which comprises 2 suites (The Bellini and the Mimosa) each with two bedroom areas that can accommodate 8 guests in total and the Timbertop suite in the main Lodge that sleeps two, all with breathtaking views of the High Country. The suites can be booked separately or together.
THE SURROUNDS
Black Angus cows graze with calves at foot, spotted deer roam, black swans visit and Kookaburras can be heard chuckling in the pin oak trees at daybreak.
Altitude 221 is 15 minutes from the tourist hub of Mansfield, close to Lake Eildon, several national parks and the Mt Buller snow fields, Australia’s most accessible international ski resort.
THE VINEYARD
Remaining on the vineyard is 1.1 acres of grapes planted by Malcolm and Susan Kinloch. The grapes continue to be harvested for sparkling wine.

The mansfield shire
Mansfield is approximately two hours northeast of Melbourne International Airport. The landscape is dominated by the Great Dividing Range and includes the Alpine National Park ski resorts of Mt Buller and Mt Stirling. Lake Eildon, Australia’s second largest inland waterway which can hold six times the water in Sydney Harbour is approximately 15 minutes drive from the Lodge where recreational boating activities abound. The area is referred to as the “High Country” and includes major river systems, lakes, rugged mountains and vast tracts of productive agricultural valleys.
A memorial to the three Policemen killed at Stringybark Creek in 1878 by infamous bushranger Ned Kelly is a part of the district’s history.
